And So It Begins - Time to make changes - Part 1

So, after much thought and many years under my belt of trying to get healthy and never quite succeeding. I have decided to take a more holistic approach to my health and life as to the whole thereof.

Over the years I have studied herbs and herbal medicines with small on-line courses. I  have done yoga and meditation.  I have done Weight Watchers, Slimfast and The Daniel Plan.  I am truly a wealth of information on living and eating healthy.  The only thing....is that I don't do it.  At 260 pounds at 60 years old I am vitamin D deficient and my cholesterol is starting to climb.  I have an enlarged fatty liver so I don't want to take cholesterol medicine and feel like I take enough already with blood pressure pills, gabapetin for neuropathy, thyroid medicine  and prilosec for acid reflux.

I decided after the last doctor visit that it is time for a change, time to take all the information I have used learned over the decades and pull them together and make some lifestyle changes that I have done before and they worked.  Why I get pulled back to bad eating and unhealthy habit I don't know why - and at 60 can I change my ways?

So I watched a video on a site which for a certain amount of money you to can live the perfect lifestyle, with the perfect body.  As I watched the perfect lady wake up at 5:30 AM looking perfect and as she trotted down the steps of her perfect house with no clutter she headed to the kitchen for a mug of lemon water.  Something I know is very healthy and a great way to start your day - me I start with a cup of Joe.  She then jogged a few miles and then came home to meditate to start her day.

Yeah.

Me, I get up at 6:30 AM and leave for work at 7:30 AM - there is no jogging or meditating.  I consider myself blessed if I can read my "Upper Room" message before work.  It is not because I have kids, but because my Mom lives with me.  It's a blessing - but she saves up everything she wants to tell me until the morning.  You know, like the ladies at McDonald's (not only is McD's a kids hangout but it is the Senior place to go!) don't like the way the newspaper updated their look.  They don't like the obituaries anymore. It's a terrible.  Oh my.

Okay, so I don't have the picture perfect life.  We gotta work with what we got and I have already started.  I would show you - but I forgot my phone today - so tomorrow I might make a video of what mornings really look like.

Thanks for Namastayingawhile - I hope you have a great day.
