Virtual Gastric By-Pass?
In the past I have use hypnosis apps that have helped with hunger for a bit so I was looking around for an app that would hypnotize me into thinking I had a gastric bypass. I know - that sounds dumb, but guess what - there is. Also there are apps for virtual gastric bands. It is hypnosis but they cost money. I am not one to spend money. But then I came across two interesting articles. One was Dr. Weil, it talked about a woman who was reading about gastric bypasses on how the food went directly out of the body faster causing weight loss. Next thing it started happening to her and she started loosing weight without having it done.
Our bodies are funny things - sometimes - let me tell you what I am doing.
I read an article about virtual lap band and it had and interesting thought: To make your brain think you have had gastric bypass surgery is to eat one measuring tablespoon of dietary fat–specifically almond butter–30 minutes before each meal, and wash it down with a full glass of water. In the August 3, 2015, issue of Woman’s World, Dr. Oz explains that this too-easy trick works because the fat will signal the pyloric valve at the end of your stomach to close. It takes about 20 minutes for this process, so that is why the advice is to eat the almond butter 30 minutes before your meal. Between the fat closing off the stomach valve and the water taking up space, your stomach will think that it is already mostly full. You will not be able to overeat, even if you want to. Instead, you will be satisfied to eat much less, just as if you had a gastric bypass.
So yesterday - I had a half day of vacation. I did a modified fast - I don't eat breakfast - yes - I know - bad thing - but I was waiting to try the almond butter thing - So when got home - I had the almond butter and glass of water - in about 20 minutes I felt full - then I had to go potty. Then I started cooking, In the mail I got a sample of a Slimfast Meal Replacement Cookie - I decided to eat that for lunch - I did - it was okay - a little dry - so I washed it down with water. I was full - then I had to go potty. hmmmm
We went food shopping we got a giant hoagie for dinner - we split it 4 ways. I ate my portion, had some chips and you guessed it - immediately went potty. What? Did I, from reading all this information give myself a virtual gastric bypass. It is funny how the body work. It is probably just a little irritable bowel, I get problems sometimes, but the timing- coincidence? Or is that how the mind can really work.
So today I brought the other portion of hoagie. My goal it to just eat that and not the ten thousand snacks in the lunch room. I also brought my almond butter, which I will have soon. I want to see if I can train myself to eat less. One of my problems!
Only time will tell!
