Water Water Everywhere and Drink Every drop
Every diet pushes water. General health pushes water. Hydration!
From the Mayo Clinic:
Getting enough water every day is important for your health. Drinking water can prevent dehydration, a condition that can cause unclear thinking, result in mood change, cause your body to overheat, and lead to constipation and kidney stones. Water has no calories, so it can also help with managing body weight and reducing calorie intake when substituted for drinks with calories, such as sweet tea or regular soda.
Water helps your body:
- Keep a normal temperature.
- Lubricate and cushion joints.
- Protect your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues.
- Get rid of wastes through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements.

Your body needs more water when you are:
- In hot climates.
- More physically active.
- Running a fever.
- Having diarrhea or vomiting.
So how much water. Well that is debatable.
The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is:
- About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men
- About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women
Wowsers - Most diets use 8 glasses of water as a goal
and that is what I am going to shoot for. I bought myself a 64 oz water bottle for $5 at Five Below - I ordered it online - it has a nice handle and a straw (See image on left) - I love it. So my personal goal is to drink that before supper because if I drink too much water at night I will be up all night going to the bathroom.

If you don't like plain water - add fruit - or cucumbers - get flavor drops. Personally I like plain old water. If you need more ideas just google!!
REMEMBER if you feel hungry between meals try some water - sometimes you are just thirsty and it helps make you feel full. Summer is here - stay hydrated
